Lens Hood is mounted on 52mm adapter ring that replaces original ring on Finepix lens (dummy ring that cover thread). Adapter Ring also can be used for mounting 52mm filter.
Both parts are metal. Lens hoods guard against uncontrolled, stray light and unwanted reflections which result in reduced contrast and possible "ghost Images". In general, the use of a lens hood is recommended because better contrast improves the appearance of the photograph. This accessory also offers protection for the front lens element against rain and mechanical damage. This Wide Angle Metal Hood is designed to not to block lens extension.

To mount the Lens Hood first disassemble the dummy ring from your camera and install adapter ring on it place.
