It is known that white umbrellas are also effective as diffusers but they tend to reflect and loose large amount of light while a softbox's construction directs all the light onto the model.

The diffuser and the silver reflecting surface (see photo) spread the light uniquely evenly. All the light is reflected in one direction which protects the color balance from the environment's influence.

A softbox is a means of obtaining even and diffused light. Such lighting is used in portrait photography (i.e. passport photos) but also in advertising photography, where the even lighting is of a paramount importance. Diffused flashlight highly reduces blown-out highlights and reflections on shiny or transparent surfaces.

The included bracket is equipped with two adapters so one can carry the lamp and the other can carry i.e. a photocell. (Example on the photos below).
