Thanks to the double diffuser and silver inner reflecting surface (see photos) the light is uniquely evenly diffused. All the light is reflected in one direction which protects the color balance from the environment's influence.

A softbox is a means of obtaining even and diffused light. Such lighting is used in portrait photography (i.e. passport photos) but also in advertising photography, where the even lighting is of a paramount importance. Diffused flashlight highly reduces blown-out highlights and reflections on shiny or transparent surfaces.
